Welcome to My Storytelling Corner

Where Books Meet Wonder, Faith meets family, and words Shine a Light in the messy middle.

Where every Story finds a home

My world is a mix of swoony love stories, coming-of-age adventures, faith-filled essays, and reflections that (hopefully) read like a voice memo from a friend who sees you and gets it.

If you're craving a novel that makes you feel something...

or a devotional that comforts you in the chaos...

or a place to laugh through motherhood, fall in love on the page, or rediscover God's presence in the quiet moments between loads of laundry and dishes...

you're in the right spot.

The most amazing stories of love and humor and heart.

— Melissa West, USA Today Bestselling Author

Stories are how we remember the goodness threaded through our lives, and this corner brings together every world I write in–from swoony, small-town adult romance and young adult first love, to honest essays on faith, family, and identity, and the blog where I spill my heart, my lessons, and occasionally my caffeinated beverage of choice (spoiler: it's Diet Mountain Dew). Wherever you wander next, I'm so glad you're here.

Meeting readers around the world has been one of the greatest joys of my life.

Story-rich Essays & rebel tools

For the woman ready to stop editing herself and live from the inside out.

Goodbye, Good Girl — My Substack The essay behind the episode.

Each week, Goodbye, Good Girl is where I take the conversation from The Joyful Rebel Podcast and go deeper on the page — the long-form companion essay, where the real integration happens after the mic is off.

The essay is free. Paid subscribers also get the journal prompts and practical tools to carry that week's truth into real life. (Because the essay is the story — the paid tier is the excavation.)

"Living visible doesn’t always look like big announcements, or bold moments of perfection. It can look a lot like Doing the Hard Thing Anyway." - excerpt from 'Practicing Imperfection'

Ready to Go From Reading to Doing?

The stories and essays will move you — but the real change happens in the small, ordinary moments, the ones where you usually go quiet.

That's what the Rebel Response Mini Kit is for.

For just $7, it's the exact words to say — out loud or to yourself — the next time you feel yourself start to disappear. So instead of the automatic yes or the swallowed opinion, you've got a line ready… and you stay.

Think of it as the smallest first step onto The Rebel Path™ — pocket-sized, practical, and yours to keep.

I also have a free gift for you...

5 Moments You're Abandoning Yourself (Without Even Realizing It)

This free guide names 5 of the most common moments women disappear—including the sneaky ones that feel like just being a good person.

Because you can't interrupt a pattern you can't see.

The power of Story

I've always been passionate about the written word. I grew up writing countless first chapters until I finally finished one… and then ten more, in multiple languages.

As a New York Times and USA Today bestselling author, I've had the joy of speaking on stages and in classrooms about story structure and character development. I homeschooled my daughters for sixteen years with real books and biographies — then watched them step into their own life stories with Leading Lady energy. And for twenty years I've served in faith ministry, sharing Jesus's parables and the Gospel across every age group, with certification in both the Enneagram and Ignatian spiritual practices — learning how the Ultimate Author uses story to teach and guide us.

Today I bring all of it together in my coaching and courses — helping women rewrite the stories they've been living through Good Girl Ghosting™ and my ReStory Arc™. Because the story you tell yourself becomes the life you live, and you get to pick the pen back up.

Stories are how we soften, how we grow, how we remember what matters most. Whether you're here for comfort, courage, or a spark of imagination — you're welcome here.

My first book signing in 2012 with my family.

This feels like it was taken yesterday.

Don't blink, friends.
