Homeschooling Doesn't Fall Apart Because Parent's Aren't Capable.
It fractures when thoughtful, devoted parents are handed systems built on pressure, comparison, and fear—and told that's what "doing it right" looks like.
Legacy of Learning™ exists to change that story.
This is not about replicating school at home.
It's about creating a home where learning becomes a lifestyle and a culture—one rooted in curiosity, relationship, shared values, and long-range vision.
I help families move from second-guessing to confident leadership, from survival mode to meaningful momentum, and from daily stress to a natural rhythm where learning actually fits real life. This is where family legacies are born.
THIS WORK IS FOR PARENTS WHO:
Want their children to love learning, not just comply or check boxes
Care deeply about family culture, values, and long-term legacy
Want rigor without burnout
Are thinking ahead to high school, college transcripts, and future opportunities
Feel called to homeschool—but don't want it to consume their marriage or identity
Value expert guidance without micromanagement
If you're looking for worksheets, checklists, or someone to approve your daily schedule—this isn't that.
If you want to lead with confidence, connection, and clarity—if you want your children to discover how to learn, not just what to learn—and want someone by your side who has done it, and done it well?
You're in the right place.

Educational leadership (not curriculum overload)
Story-anchored learning and curiosity-driven rigor
Multi-age adaptability and real-life rhythms
Long-range vision with practical execution
Documentation strategies proven to impress the most prestigious of universities—without sacrificing childhood
Simply Put:
When relationship—not fear, performance, or pressure—guides our choices, the impact is felt for generations.
For two decades, I've walked alongside homeschool families—not just as an educator, but as a leader, mentor, writer, and guide.
My introduction to home education leadership began as an Assistant Editor and contributing writer for a homeschool magazine and community. Following that, I was a lead creator of preschool unit studies and board moderator for a national website.
Locally, I led three different homeschool organizations—the largest serving over 650 families in the Northwest Houston area. I founded the Teen Leadership Council, creating meaningful leadership experiences for college-bound students—supporting applications, character formation, and large-scale events that blended rigor with purpose, and a lot of fun.
I've hosted multiple events for new homeschool families and those preparing for high school. I've mentored parents on dual credit and university applications, career exploration, and supporting creation of extensive school records and transcripts.
I've coached students on application essays, applying skills I've earned as a New York Times bestselling author of eleven books.
For sixteen years I was blessed to be a homeschool mom, guiding my girls from preschool through graduation and beyond with tailored programs that fit their unique strengths, goals, and interests.
One graduated our homeschool high school with an esthetician license and college credit, and is now pursuing a business degree.
The other graduated at 16 with an associate degree, earned her bachelor's Cum Laude from TCU at 19, and is now in graduate school for clinical mental health.
They were accepted at every university to which they applied, receiving generous scholarships.
Both of my children have special needs, which shaped how I think about learning, pacing, documentation, and long-term vision.
Most importantly, our home was rich in connection, curiosity, and shared memories that still bind us together.
I've lived this work at the kitchen table, in leadership rooms, and in the long arc between wonder and adulthood.
When we work together, you're not borrowing confidence—you have a guide who has lived it, led it at scale, and proven what's possible. Who knows how to build both meaningful learning and measurable results.

You don't need to choose between joy and excellence. You can build both.

Navigate the tricky waters of applying to college

Kay
Homeschool Mom & Former Public School Teacher

I'm a former 8th grade Science teacher turned homeschool mom and I've known Rachel since our kiddos were homeschooling preschoolers together!
Rachel has always made sure all kids felt included, from preschool field trips to creating a Teen Leadership Council for our homeschool community.
She extends that service to parents, helping us navigate the tricky waters of applying to college and building strong transcripts—I love that she sees a need and throws herself into filling it herself.
And she does an excellent job at it, to boot!
Committed to student growth and development

Shayna
Parent and President of Model Teaching

Rachel Harris is charismatic, kind, and committed to student growth and development.
I've used her homeschool lessons with my own children and have been counseled by her on academic strategies, support methods, and ideas on best practices in instruction—topics that have served me well in the design of my own training and the support of educators across the country.
I highly recommend her.

You don’t need to have it all figured out. You don't need to walk this alone.
